Website Redesign

Main Objective

As part of the Digital Design team, I was involved with the redesign of the GoPro website, which coincided with the release of the new (at the time) cameras, drone, and editing apps. The goal was to bring a modern/minimalist aesthetic, that showcased the cameras features, and increase sales, subscriptions, and app downloads.

Supporting Objectives

In addition to the full website redesign, Microsites, Landing Pages for various products and services, Email design, Digital Banner Ads, and multiple GoPro photo and video editing apps. Interaction with cross functional teams including product owners, high level stakeholders, development teams, and various teams from other departments (packaging, retail, brand, photography, hardware, software).

 

Responsibility

UX and Visual Designer, working as part of a small team of two other Designers and a few Developers to deliver the main and supporting objectives. My main contribution was the website homepage, product detail pages, and the checkout flow. I also worked heavily on the secondary microsites and landing pages, as well as the photo and video editing apps.

Methodology and Creative Phase Development

We utilized the Double Diamond approach to conduct market research, user journeys and iterative usability testing was used after creating user profiles to guide our decisions. After defining requirements and prioritizing features, we began user flows, wireframes, and starting ideation.

 

Creative Phase Delivery

Rounds of design ideation was conducted with the team and developers to identify any future difficulties to avoid early on. User testing was then conducted on design variations. Once the final design was decided upon and implemented for the main objective (main website), we used the agreed upon UI elements in order to design/build the secondary objectives (microsites, landing pages, editing apps).
